History
After spending time contracting in the UK in the mid-1990's, Brendon Upson returned to Australia and created webWise Network Consultants Pty Ltd. The idea was to apply the skills and work methods learnt there working for some of the world's biggest names. At this time corporate email systems were beginning to take off and people were starting to talk about this thing called "The Internet".
From 1997 webWise held various contracts with large financial services organisations around Sydney, while at the same time building software products to support those consulting engagements.
After the dotcom bubble burst, webWise got back to basics and began to focus on the mining and construction industries. Developing software for these industries is far more rewarding as there is a tangible aspect - in financial services it seemed merely like shuffling imaginary things about. With a regular and recurring client base, the 00's were a period of stability.
As 2009 drew to a close it became apparent that in order to remain relevant, webWise must continue to reinvent itself. Off-shoring was becoming more popular and the new "cloud" buzzword was being thrown about with reckless abandon. webWise has elected to stay local and speak the language you speak.
